About CompareCEX

CompareCEX is an independent website that helps people who are new to crypto — or who want to switch exchanges — compare centralized exchanges (CEX, the origin of our name and our starting point), decentralized exchanges (DEX), bridges, swap aggregators, wallets, and on/off-ramps. We focus on the questions beginners actually ask: which exchange is easiest to sign up with, which fees are lowest, which countries are supported, and which exchanges have a clean security track record.

An anonymous team, on purpose

CompareCEX is run by a small, anonymous team rather than named individual authors. We made this choice deliberately: we do not want readers to trust us because of a claimed résumé or made-up expert persona. Instead, we ask to be judged on what we publish — our scoring methodology, our sources, and our correction history. If you find an error, we want to know about it and fix it publicly.

What this site is not

CompareCEX is not a financial advisor and does not manage funds. Nothing on this site is investment advice. Crypto assets are volatile and, in many jurisdictions, lightly regulated or unregulated — you should only use exchanges and hold assets you understand, and never more than you can afford to lose.

How the site makes money

We earn commissions when readers sign up with some exchanges through our links. This is disclosed on every page that includes an affiliate link, and it never changes the score an exchange receives — see our affiliate disclosure for the full policy. Exchanges with no affiliate program are still reviewed and ranked using the same criteria as everyone else.

Where we are today

This site is in an early build phase. We are publishing our foundation — technical setup, trust pages, and the first reviews — before scaling up content. Where a process described on this site (for example, hands-on testing) is not fully running yet, we say so explicitly rather than implying it is already complete.
