How affiliate links work

When you click a link to an exchange from CompareCEX and later sign up (and sometimes trade or deposit, depending on the program), the exchange may pay us a commission. This comes at no extra cost to you — the fees you pay the exchange are the same whether you arrive through our link or directly.

What commission does not affect

Commission is never an input to an exchange's editorial score. Our scoring formula (see Methodology) is based only on fees, KYC/ease of use, country coverage, security track record, regulation, payment methods, features, and support. Exchanges with no affiliate relationship with us are scored the same way as exchanges that do pay a commission.

What commission can affect

Commission can influence where an exchange is placed among others that already scored at a similar level — for example, the order of two exchanges inside a "top 5 for beginners" list that both qualified independently of commission. It never determines whether an exchange qualifies for that list in the first place, and it never overrides a lower score with a higher position.

Compliance by country

If an exchange is restricted in your country, we do not show its affiliate link to you — the review stays available, but the call-to-action is replaced with a note and an alternative that is actually usable where you are.
