CompareCEX is a content and comparison site. We do not require an account to use it, and we keep the data we collect to a minimum.
What we do not store
We do not store visitor IP addresses. When we need a rough sense of a visitor's country (for example, to hide a call-to-action for an exchange that is restricted there), we read a country code from a CDN request header at request time — we do not log or retain the raw IP address that produced it.
Outbound click tracking
When you click an affiliate link, it routes through /go/{exchange} so we can record which page and position the click came from. This record includes the page, the exchange, a coarse device type, a country code, and a short-lived session identifier — never your name, email, or IP address.
Analytics
We plan to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns once it is configured. GA4 will be set up with minimal data collection settings; we do not currently run any other third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Cookies
We aim to use the minimum cookies necessary for the site to function and, once enabled, for GA4 to measure aggregate traffic. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising profiles.
Third-party links
Exchanges we link to have their own privacy policies that apply once you leave CompareCEX. We are not responsible for how they handle your data.
